What Is It?
End‑to‑end coordination for moving LU owned IT equipment — desktops/laptops, docks, monitors, keyboards/mice, printers (if applicable), and desk phones fom one on‑campus location to another. ITS will:
- Confirm network and power availability at the destination
- Schedule the disconnect, transport (as applicable), and reconnect of devices
- Update phone extension routing and emergency location info (for VoIP/softphone setups)
- Test sign‑in, network, printing, and phone after the move
- Update asset inventory for the new location
Please do not move IT equipment yourself (especially phones, docking stations, or cabling). This helps prevent damage, data loss, and network misconfiguration.
Who Is Eligible to Use It?
- Faculty & Staff who are moving offices
- Supervisors/Department administrators submitting moves for their teams
- Contractors/Affiliates when sponsored by a department (LU owned equipment only)

How Do I Use It?
1) Submit the request (recommended lead time: minimum 3 days notice)
Provide these details to speed scheduling and avoid surprises:
People & timing
- Primary contact
- Requested move date and a time window the space will be available.
- Whether this is an individual or multi‑person move.
Locations
- Current building/room and destination building/room
Equipment (LU owned only)
- Computer assets, docking station, monitors (quantity/size), key peripherals
- Desk phone/extension
- Printers/scanners that need to move (department approved only)
Other notes
- Coordination with Facilities (furniture/keys) if they’re also working the space
- Any shared spaces affected (front desk phones, departmental kiosks, conference rooms)
2) ITS schedules and prepares
- Verifies network ports, phone configuration, and destination readiness
- Aligns with Facilities (if needed) and confirms the move window with you
3) Day of move
- ITS disconnects, moves (as applicable), and reconnects devices
- Tests sign‑in, network, printing, and phone; confirms with the requester before closing
Notes & Policies
- This service is for on‑campus relocation of LU owned equipment. Personal devices are not moved by ITS.
- Moves that require new network drops, room readiness, furniture changes, or electrical work will be routed to the appropriate group(s) and may affect scheduling.
- If your move includes name/role/department changes or phone number reassignments, please note that in the ticket so we can coordinate those updates as part of the move.
