Report Suspicious Activity or Acceptable Use Violations

What Is It?

A security/acceptable use intake that routes your report to the right responders (ITS Security/Service Desk, and when appropriate LUPD and University offices). Use this when you see:

  • Suspicious email or message (phishing, malware, credential theft attempts)
  • Account compromise (unexpected MFA prompts, password changes, or sign‑ins)
  • Malware/infected device or strange system/network behavior
  • Inappropriate/unauthorized use of LU systems or data, or policy violations (e.g., account sharing, unapproved software)
Who Is Eligible to Use It?

  • Faculty, Staff, Students, and Student Employees (for themselves or their areas)
  • Supervisors/Department Heads (report issues affecting their teams)
  • Contractors/Affiliates (through LU sponsor)
All reports are handled per LU policy; account sharing is prohibited and all use must comply with LU licensing and contracts

  • For email: include the original message as an attachment and any available headers
  • Device details (LU‑managed or personal), OS, and location (on/off campus)
  • Whether you clicked anything, entered credentials, or opened attachments

Password/MFA issues discovered during a report
