What Is It?
This service provides technical support for common academic and administrative software used at Lincoln University. Typical requests include installation or update assistance, license/activation issues, application crashes, add‑ins and plug‑ins, performance problems, and how‑to guidance for supported features. When a request requires new licensing or a purchase, ITS will route it to the proper software request/procurement workflow.
Who Is Eligible to Use It?
- Faculty & Staff: Full support for LU‑managed (university‑owned) devices.
- Student employees/Graduate assistants: Same as above, when required for job duties and approved by a supervisor.
- Students: Support for student‑entitled LU licenses (e.g., Microsoft 365 apps) and access to self‑help resources; installations on LU‑owned lab/classroom machines are handled by ITS.
- Contractors/Affiliates: By exception with department head approval and ITS review.
Important: Software installations and configurations that modify system settings are performed only on LU‑owned devices. Requests for software that is not required (e.g., already available via web access or an approved alternative) may be denied with an explanation and recommended next steps.
