Office Move / Relocation

Service Description

This service supports faculty and staff with office relocations, including packing, transport, setup, and coordination with other departments (e.g., ITS for technology moves). Facilities staff will assist with moving desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and other items as needed to ensure a smooth transition.

All full-time LU faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements for Service
  • Provide current and destination building/room numbers
  • List items to be moved (e.g., furniture, boxes, electronics)
  • Indicate preferred move date and time
  • Include department approval (if applicable)
  • Identify any special handling needs (e.g., fragile items, heavy equipment)
Notes & Resources
  • Moves should be requested at least 2 weeks in advance to allow for scheduling and coordination
  • Technology-related moves (computers, phones, printers) should also be submitted to ITS Support Services
  • Packing materials may be available upon request
  • For large-scale or multi-office moves, a site visit may be required before scheduling
